Special features
Ignition signals are fast, high-voltage pulses of energy that can damage even a good quality digital multimeter, while the IgnitionMate system has been specially designed to dynamically measure and display both primary and secondary ignition signals on a Bar graph displays with bright LEDs.
The different types of ignition systems (AC-CDI, CC-CDI, transistor, magnet, coil and "points") have the same basic components, in which the signals obtained are usually similar in nature and magnitude.
It is not necessary to disassemble the ignition system components. This avoids introducing or correcting poor contacts in the system, which can lead to confusion and delay the identification of the real problem. Two signals from the same cylinder can be compared simultaneously, including secondary high voltage scales / peak voltages of 10, 20, 40 kV: use the induction clamp to measure the high voltage between the ignition coil and the spark plug.
SPARK Current: Measure the consistency of the high voltage spark current signal for misfire.
Low primary voltage/peak voltage ranges of 10, 40 or 400 Vpk: use the RED and BLACK siliconized test leads to measure signals between the ICU and the power supply (battery and charging coil), time sensors (charging coil boost or Hall sensor), ignition coil and switches (key, emergency stop, pedal, valve). METHOD: Compare and display two different signals on the same cylinder.
SCREEN / RESOLUTION: 2 high-brightness 40 LED screens.
SELECT / SET; Left display: Select between 20 kV and SPARK. Adjust the SPARK sensitivity.
RIGHT SCREEN: Select the primary voltage between 10, 40 and 400 VPK. Select the secondary voltage between 10, 20 and 40 kV.
KV VOLTAGE POLARITY: Single output coils have negative signals and double output coils have negative and positive signals.
POWER ON/OFF, including “auto-off” if no signal is measured.
POWER: 7.2V rechargeable NiMH battery with 6 hours of battery life, external 12V DC power (11-15V DC).
