Very easy to use
Connect the clamps to the battery or connect with an SAE battery cable installed, then: Check the battery charge level. If the battery has a low charge level, the engine will start poorly.
Start the engine. The OptiMate test function records and displays (for 20 s) the minimum starting voltage. With the engine running, check the charging voltage from the alternator and voltage regulator.
Advice
If the charging voltage is low, it will cause the battery performance to be insufficient. If the charging voltage is too high, it will cause overgassing which will ultimately damage the lead-acid battery. If the charging voltage is too high, it can PERMANENTLY DAMAGE LiFePO4 starter batteries.
